At Hemp Hair Spa, we believe healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp. Often overlooked in personal care for both women and men, the scalp plays a vital role in the overall look, feel, and health of the hair. Stress, product buildup, hard water, chlorine, environmental exposure, and harsh chemicals can all disrupt the scalp’s natural balance and affect hair softness, shine, and vitality.

Hemp Hair Spa was created as a calming space where scalp care, plant-based wellness, and intentional relaxation come together to support both the hair and the person as a whole.

Hemp Hair Spa was founded by Aveda-trained cosmetologist and educator, Kelsey Barhagh.

Kelsey received her cosmetology education through the Aveda Institute in Jacksonville, Florida in 2013. After becoming a mom and relocating to St. Louis with her family in 2025, Kelsey became inspired by holistic wellness, scalp care, and the connection between relaxation and overall well-being.

“My own experiences with scalp and skin sensitivity inspired me to explore a gentler, wellness-focused approach to hair care. I was immediately drawn to the calming nature of scalp rituals and the connection between scalp health, relaxation, and healthy hair.”
