Setting Up Your Google Business Profile - Without Affecting the Salon Lofts Brand Page

In this digital age, having an online presence is an important part of being a small business owner. As an independent beauty professional, your Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business) is a powerful tool to help clients find you, book appointments, and read your reviews. However, many Loft Owners wonder: How do I set up my Google Business Profile without interfering with the Salon Lofts location’s main Google listing?

The good news: you absolutely can — and should — create your own individual profile that highlights your business, services, and client experience. Below is a simple step-by-step guide to make sure your listing is set up correctly and does not override or conflict with the main Salon Lofts location listing.

Why You Need Your Own Google Business Profile

Increase visibility: Clients searching for your name, services, or specialties can find you directly.

Collect reviews: Build your own reputation through client testimonials.

Showcase your services: Highlight your specialties, pricing, photos, and hours.

Control your online presence: Ensure your contact info, booking links, and social profiles are accurate.

*The #1 Rule: Do Not Claim or Edit the Salon Lofts Location Listing*

Salon Lofts locations already have active Google Business Profiles that are managed at the corporate level.

When setting up your personal profile:

DO: Create a new business profile for your business name.

DO NOT: Attempt to claim or edit the existing Salon Lofts listing for your location.

This avoids accidentally taking over the main Salon Lofts listing for your building.

Step-by-Step: How to Set Up Your Google Business Profile

  1. Start at the right link. Go to: https://www.google.com/business/ and click “Manage Now.”
  1. Enter Your Business Name. Use your personal business name or your name + services (examples: "Hair by Amanda – Salon Lofts" or "Luxe Brows & Beauty – Salon Lofts") Tip: Including "Salon Lofts" in your name can help clients know where you're located without interfering with the main location page.

  1. Choose the Correct Business Category. Example categories: Hair Salon, Nail Salon, Esthetician, Massage Therapist, Beauty Salon

  1. Add Your Address Carefully. Use your Salon Lofts location address (include suite/loft number if applicable). Example: 123 Main Street, Suite #5, City, State, Zip. Adding your suite number helps Google differentiate your listing from the main Salon Lofts location.

  1. Add Your Phone Number & Website. Use your direct business phone and your personal booking site link (such as the Salon Lofts Booking Tool, Vagaro, GlossGenius, etc.)

  1. Verify Your Business. Google may verify your profile by mail, email, phone, or video — follow the prompts carefully.

  1. Complete Your Profile. Upload photos of your work and Loft. List your services. Set your hours. Add your bio or business description. Begin asking clients for reviews.

Avoid These Common Mistakes

Don’t select “This business is located inside another business.”

Don’t try to manage or update the Salon Lofts corporate listing.

Don’t use the Salon Lofts main phone number or website on your profile.

Why Google Needs Separate Listings

Google wants to give customers the most accurate, specific search results. Having your own properly set up profile allows your clients to find you directly — while Salon Lofts’ main location page continues to serve new potential Loft Owners and general brand awareness.
