I was initially hesitant to book an appointment since this truly was my first haircut. I've have extremely long hair my whole life and Paul encouraged the manageable length. Instructions on how to properly wash and condition my hair were very thorough and straight forward. This was probably the first time that I had felt my hair be so soft and clean, as no one ever taught me how to properly do the basic steps to haircare. I'm super glad that I went and can now feel good about my hair, as Paul recognized the amount of control hair has over ones life when it's super long and unmanaged. I have been going to Paul since I moved to Chicago a little over 4 years ago and my hair has never been better. Paul teaches you how to do your hair during the appointment and it is easily reproducible at home. Since I've switched to getting my hair cut by him and using Deva Curl products my hair is much more hydrated, my curls are more defined, and I get comments daily about how great my hair looks. I used to have dry skin/psoriasis at the back of my neck and that has completely resolved since using these products - Paul teaches you to put the conditioner in at the root which not only hydrates the hair, but also the skin. I am not exaggerating when I say it is a rare day if I don't get a compliment on my hair or someone asking me how I do it. Ahhhmazing first time experience with Paul! His first assessment of my hair he was on point with what I was doing wrong with my curls. He quickly revitalized my curls back to life starting my journey towards healthy and hydrated curls. I came in thinking humidity to my hair was a curse whereas humidity is my friend with hydrated curls. I left Pauls loft salon with revitaled curls and an amazing flow and movement. Before going to Paul, my last hair appointment was 5 years ago and let's just say things didnt go well for my hair. I hated it and decided to never to never go back to ahair salon again. However with much encouragement from my sister she showed me devacurl and what they have done for many curly haired girls! I was stunned and never made an appointment for anything faster than this. Then the day came for the appointment I was nervous but Paul, was absolutely amazing! I never thought I could learn so much in an hour about my curls. I realized I was making many mistakes which I thought were good things but paul helped clear out curly girl myths and facts. Very much appreciated. He also taught the proper way to diffuse your hair and keep curls looking nice and bounce. I really do recommend paul for any girl out there struggling with curly hair! He is your guide trust me! Dont overthink just book then appointment!

So because of this I damage the $#!? out of my hair for the last 2 years by constantly straightening it... my hair lost all its bounce so the cycle continued.
