When trying a new stylist, it's unrealistic to expect absolute perfection on the very first try. It's usually a work in progress; the key is finding someone with instinct, and a demeanor that's easy to communicate with. Dana has both. She can anticipate what you need before even YOU do, but is chill enough that you can feel 100% comfortable bluntly expressing the truth. NOTHING is worse than sitting in someone's chair, despising your hair, knowing you'll never ever be back, but its not even worth it to address with them because you're SO not on the same page. Dana is who you'd go to to get it fixed. And if there's anything requiring tweaking, her laid back personality negates any chance of awkwardness. My only complaint was that the toner faded too quickly when trying to transition summer highlights to a more downplayed fall look. But to be fair, I was obsessed with my blonde highlights still 'showing', so essentially she really only did what I asked (I only realized how much better it actually looked darker AFTER Dana prompted a darker look). Though it was a shock the first day, by day 2 I was OBSESSED with how much better it looked, which was why I just wanted it to now stay that way (but toner has other ideas. No fault of Dana's). Point is, I had no idea I'd ever like or be even want a darker, more sophisticated look, but Dana just naturally sensed exactly what to do, and was such a pleasure to work with. You always hope your 'first date' with a stylist won't have to be the last, and luckily with Dana, I don't think anyone could go to her WITHOUT becoming a regular client. I already have my second appointment booked (and I'm a tough sell so that says a lot). She effortlessly gave this new mom her confidence back, so totally recommend. You won't regret it!

Dana has been my stylist for 5+ years! I get my hair cut once a year because I like letting it grow out. So, I'll come in and see Dana asking for some complex angled bob with layers and she always nails it. I definitely recommend her!
