I have been a stylist since 1995. I trained with Vidal Sassoon and worked there as a stylist, which was a valuable event in my career. I had also worked for Red Door, Aveda, Salon Nordine and Day Spa. I keep myself updated with the newest trends, and I challenge myself to be the best stylist that I can be. I am passionate about my career, and I help my clients achieve the styles that they want. I am so grateful that I have loyal clients for many years, and I love to see smiles on their faces when I finish their new look.

I just moved to the DC area last month (July 2017) and was looking for a good hair stylist. My neighbor mentioned “Hair By Michelle” in Sterling. The salon is about 45 minutes from my house but since it was highly recommended, I wanted to check it out. I needed a great impression for my first day at work. Michelle was very accommodating and flexible with my unpredictable schedule. I had to juggle several errands on the day of the appointment. Finally, my hair appointment was the last one for the day and Michelle really took her time and explained what would work best for me. I really appreciated her attentiveness and listening to my concerns and desire. She is a true professional and extremely detail oriented which is a great quality in a hair stylist. When you're looking for a stylist, you want someone who really knows hair. And Michelle REALLY knows hair. Mine is straight and literal, and I can't tell you how many times it's been cut and it just doesn't fall right. You know what I'm talking about - looks great leaving the salon w all that styling, but what happens when you wash your hair the next day and every time after that! Michelle has cut my hair for probably over a decade - meticulous, detailed, finessed in such a way, that my hair looks effortless, moves, almost like I have waves - when in fact, my hair is straight.
